The Clone Wars - S1E3 - "Shadow of Malevolence"

6:46 - Nala Se: "It is our only hope." Leia uses the phrase "only hope" twice in A New Hope ("Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope" [35:35] and "You must use the information in this R2 unit to help plan the attack; it's our only hope" [1:38:49]); C-3PO uses it once in The Empire Strikes Back ("Your highness, we must take this last transport; it's our only hope" [31:49]); Obi-Wan uses it once, referring to Luke, in Return of the Jedi ("You were our only hope" [47:24]); and Luke uses it once, referring to Leia, in Return of the Jedi ("If I don't make it back, you're the only hope for the Alliance" [1:19:39]). Sio Bibble also uses it in The Phantom Menace: "Our only hope is for the senate to side with us" [23:48].

7:41 - Anakin: "Cut the chatter, Ahsoka." Red Leader has a similar line in A New Hope: "Cut the chatter, Red Two" [1:45:55].

15:31, 19:30 - As in the previous episode, the Malevolence's ion cannon firing parallels the Death Star's firing in A New Hope, but in the first of these two occurrences, the button-pushing sequence [58:53, 1:56:25] is also included:

17:27 - Plo Koon: "Stay on course" echoes a Gold Squadron pilot's repeated "Stay on target" from the Death Star attack in A New Hope [1:50:43]. 17:30 - Anakin: "All deflectors, double front" echoes Red Leader's "Switch your deflectors on, double front" from the Death Star attack in A New Hope [1:45:47]. 17:55 - Battle droid: "I have a bad feeling about this."

17:58 - Anakin: "Watch those towers, boys." There's also some talk about towers in the attack on the Death Star in A New Hope. At 1:53:48, Wedge says, "My scope shows the tower, but I can't see the exhaust port. Are you sure the computer can hit it?" and then, "What about that tower?" to which Luke replies, "You worry about those fighters; I'll worry about the tower." 18:05 - Clone pilot: "Loosen up" quotes a Gold Squadron pilot [1:50:48] from A New Hope. 21:21 - Plo Koon: "From a certain point of view" quotes Obi-Wan in Return of the Jedi [46:23].

The featurette on the DVD explains that the Y-Wings in this episode (especially their bubble-shaped turrets) were based in part on the Ralph McQuarrie concept art for A New Hope.
